Path To Recovery

The Path To Recovery includes true stories of consumers who overcame many obstacles with the help of Horizon Health Services to turn their lives around. Last names have been omitted for privacy. Here are their stories:

• Shasta - Shasta feared she would lose everything she’d worked so hard for.  And that’s when she started making mistakes.
• Miranda - “I had no self- esteem, I felt ugly and I hated myself.  I didn’t know it, of course, but it was all due to my illness...”
• Martin - “Martin started abusing marijuana and alcohol when he was barely a teenager...”
• Luke - Luke began his addiction by stealing alcohol from his parents’ cupboard and pills from the medicine cabinet at 14.
• Dave - “When I used, I didn’t have to think or feel, I just had fun and forgot about the pain. I didn’t think I had a problem.”
