As Horizon Controller, John Ruffolo is responsible for the preparation and analysis of the financial statements for all Horizon companies. He also oversees accounts payable and cash disbursements, payroll and contracts and grant revenue. John is also involved in the yearly budget process and is responsible for the coordination of the yearly financial statement audit.

John says there were a great many reasons to come work for Horizon, but says the work environment was a huge draw because it “promotes a healthy work/life balance,” which is important to John and his family.

A graduate of Niagara University, where he received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree, John is a member of the Niagara University Athletics Hall of Fame.

He resides on Grand Island with his wife and two kids, where he is a volunteer softball coach for the Grand Island Little League.
