Carolyn Messana-Morrow, Esq.
Chief Legal Counsel
Carolyn Messana-Morrow has served as the in-house legal counsel for the Horizon Corporations since 1992, overseeing the management and oversight of all legal matters of the affiliated companies, with a concentration in corporate and health care matters. Carolyn also manages Horizon's Human Resources Department.
Before joining Horizon, Carolyn was a partner and managing attorney in the banking and real estate department in a Buffalo law firm. She also served a seven-year term on Horizon's volunteer board of directors and finance committee.
Carolyn's areas of expertise include corporate and not-for-profit law; health care law, focusing on mental health, addiction and medical services, as well as Medicare and Medicaid; employment law and human resource matters; contract negotiations, family and criminal court proceedings and workers compensation, liability, malpractice and managed care.
A native Buffalonian, Carolyn received her BA degree in Political Science from SUNY at Buffalo and her Juris Doctorate from SUNY at Buffalo's School of Law and Jurisprudence. She is a member of the Erie County Bar Association's Health Law & Real Estate Committees and the Society of Human Resource Managers. Carolyn also served on the Strategic Planning Committee of St. Leo The Great parish in Amherst, NY, where she and her husband, Robert, reside with their daughter.
